Is it possible to change the jewellery on my wrist surface piercing?
Q. I recently got a surface piercing on my wrise, which i totally love! But i find the bar the was used very long and would like to change it to a smaller stable like piece of jewellery. Is this possible and if so how would i go about doing so?
Asked by Eilz - Thu Sep 4 18:04:08 2008 - Other - Skin & Body - 1 Answers - Comments
A. The longer bar was probably for the swelling, go back to the piercer and get information from them. They know best.

How would you go about learning Jewellery making as well as working full time?
Q. I don't ask for myself, mind you :) but I have a friend who would like to learn how to make Jewellery professionally, but she does work full time. She lives in Liverpool and we can't find any evening courses, only full time degrees. Can anyone offer any advice??

A. The beaded stuff is pretty easy to pick up on your own, but to learn serious techniques (i.e. soldering, actual metal forming) you really need to be able to devote some serious time to it. It's not something you can learn part time. Of course, she may consider asking around at some local jeweler's shops and seeing if she can get an apprenticeship, but she's probably going to have to suck it up and go to school.

What jewellery can I wear with a purple v neck dress?
Q. Wondering what type of jewellery I could wear for my grad. The dress is purple dress and has black and silver small floral print. It has a V neck and sort of halter tie at the back and mid length. I have long hair and plan to keep my hair down. I have black closed toe shoes and a clutch.

A. I think silver would look great! Gold would look really tacky. Silver is elegant and can be dressed up or casual. A set of silver bangles would look great and maybe a black bracelet too. A necklace that is silver with maybe something black on it. That would look FAB! Hope you have fun with it!

A. I did woodcrafts with my ex-husband, a few years back and I remember our first craft fair. It was a blast. It was very eye-opening too. We had no idea of what we were getting ourselves into (don't get me wrong we had losts of fun, learned lots and made a lot more money than we had expected) but there is one great thing about the other marketers we found them to be very helpful. Now for instance, we had made only 1 or 3 at the most of each product but we had over 40 different products. We learned that instead of making so many different products, we needed to make our best sellers and lots more of them. Just know that you wont just have craft fair goers but you will also have the possability of meeting many shop owners who will want to… [cont.]

A. Purple is hot!! Don't do the pink, blah, pink is overdone. Purple since its darker and would add a nice contrast and black would be redundent since you're wearing black pants. Dammit I wish you had some green. Green would be a nice offset. I say purple or black pumps, but if you do black pumps I say make sure their patent or another material that is offset from the trousers. I hate when shoes blend in with the pants, almost seem as if they don't exist...why wear shoes that will be ignored?? But yeah, purple big beaded necklace, bangles with purple, and black. Throw in a chain belt or waist belt any color you like. Also, silver would be a nice addition as well. If you do all silver accesories, possibly silver studs (the big ball ones),… [cont.]

How likely is a jewellery store to sell old, recycled jewellery?
Q. I don't mean a pawn shop, but a real jewellery store. Is it likely for jewellery stores to claim their jewellery is new, but really they are recycled? Maybe they melt things down and change it, like ring to pendant...but is it likely for gemstones to have been worn by other people?
Asked by Somegirlie - Sat May 23 23:57:53 2009 - Polls & Surveys - 1 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Depends on the store. Chain stores are not likely to do so, what they do is purchase old jewelry and melt it 90% of the time, using that material as credit to their suppliers for new product. Some independents may re-finish old jewelry are utilize old setting and stones, but MUST disclose that it is an "Estate" piece by trade standards. Many larger precious gemstones ( ie: Rubies, Sapphires, Emeralds, etc ) are sometimes recycled into new settings but that is because the price is much better or the material may not exist anymore of that caliber.
